Two main suspects in Bahraich murder case get hurt in exchange of fire with police, arrested

In a swift response under the Yogi government's robust law and order framework, the police engaged in an encounter with two named suspects in the murder of a youth in Maharajganj, Bahraich. Both suspects sustained injuries to their legs during the encounter.
As part of the ongoing investigation, police have apprehended a total of five individuals connected to the case, including three named suspects and two others. This brings the total number of arrests to four named suspects, with one already in custody prior to this incident.
In a significant crackdown, the police have arrested 57 individuals in connection with the Maharajganj murder case, with 10 currently in custody for questioning. Authorities have registered 13 separate FIRs related to the incident, highlighting the extensive nature of the investigation.

ADG Law and Order Abhitabh Yash reported that the Bahraich police have been actively searching for the killers of Ram Gopal Mishra. Late on Wednesday night, they received tips about the suspects hiding in different locations. Acting on the tip-off, police conducted raids and arrested two named suspects in the murder, namely Mohammad Sarfaraz alias Rinku and Mohammad Faheem.
Based on their information, another suspect, Abdul Hameed, was also arrested. During the operation, two more individuals, Mohammad Afzal and Mohammad Talib alias Bablu, were apprehended.
SP Bahraich, Vrinda Shukla, noted that Sarfaraz and Talib, who are linked to the murder, were taken to Nanpara to recover the weapon used in the crime. While there, both suspects opened fire on the police, prompting the officers to return fire in self-defense, resulting in leg injuries for both.
They were then taken to the hospital for treatment by a medical team. SP Shukla emphasized that police are continuing to raid locations to apprehend additional suspects in the Maharajganj case.
She assured that strict action would be taken against everyone involved in the violent incident, including those spreading rumors or sheltering the accused. The police are taking action against all parties involved under the National Security Act (NSA).
