Varanasi News: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 52 development projects worth approximately ₹2,183.45 crore. Coming just before Rakshabandhan in the auspicious month of Shravan, this visit is expected to bring a significant boost to Purvanchal’s development.

The projects span key sectors such as road infrastructure, healthcare, education, sports, tourism, and urban development. Initiatives include the construction and widening of roads, hospital upgrades, enhancement of educational institutions, improved drinking water and sanitation facilities, development of sports infrastructure, establishment of a homeopathic college, construction of paved ghats for religious tourism, expansion of electricity and parking facilities, pond renovation, and the setting up of libraries, animal hospitals, and dog care centers.

In a major move to support farmers, the Prime Minister will also release the 20th instalment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, transferring ₹20,500 crore to the bank accounts of over 9.70 crore eligible farmers across the country. Additionally, assistive devices will be distributed to divyangjans and senior citizens during the visit.

A massive public meeting is scheduled at Banauli (Kalika Dham) village in the Sevapuri Assembly constituency, where both Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will address the gathering. The BJP expects more than 50,000 people to attend. Elaborate preparations are underway, including separate seating for women, farmers, intellectuals, the media, and specially-abled individuals. The venue has been divided into 20 blocks, each overseen by dedicated officers.

This marks the 51st visit of Prime Minister Modi to Kashi. He is expected to arrive at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport around 10 AM, from where he will proceed to the public meeting venue by helicopter. BJP leaders, including Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will receive him at the airport.

Extensive decorations are being carried out across Varanasi, including more than 1,000 hoardings, BJP flags, and welcome arches at key locations, highlighting the enthusiasm for the Prime Minister’s visit. According to BJP Kashi regional president Dilip Patel, this visit will serve as a milestone in the continued transformation of Purvanchal under the Modi-Yogi leadership.

Projects to be inaugurated are the following: 

  • 4 lane widening and strengthening of Varanasi-Bhadohi road (Rs 269.10 crore)
  • Construction of 02 lane ROB 10A on Mohansarai-Adalpura road near Hardattpur railway station (Rs 42.22 crore)
  • Construction of a 300-person capacity multipurpose hall in 36th Battalion PAC Ramnagar (Rs 2.54 crore)
  • Redevelopment of 08 earthen ghats under CSR (Rs 22.00 crore)
  • Tourism development of Kalika Dham temple located in Sevapuri (Rs 2.56 crore)
  • Reconstruction of synthetic hockey ground at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Sports Stadium, Lalpur (Rs 4.88 crore)
  • Beautification of pond and construction of ghat near Rangeela Das Kutia in Tilmapur, Shivpur (Rs 1.77 crore)
  • Animal Birth Control Center and Construction of Dog Care Centre (Rs. 1.85 crore)
  • Repair and renovation work of 53 school buildings within Varanasi Municipal Corporation limits (Rs. 7.89 crore)
  • Installation of 02 radiation machines, robotic surgery unit and CT scan machine at Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Cancer Center and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital, Varanasi (Rs. 73.30 crore)
  • Construction of 47 rural drinking water schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission (Rs. 129.97 crore)
  • Restoration and water purification work of Durgakund (Rs. 3.40 crore)
  • SH-73 to Gosainpur to Ahrauli road (Rs. 1.86 crore)
  • Widening and strengthening of Chhitauni Kot via Narottampur Khurd to Tarapur Shultankeshwar road -2.01

 Projects for which Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone include:

  2. Construction of barracks for Naxal QRT (Rs 1.54 crore)
  3. Beautification and tourism development work of village Karkhiyaon in memory of freedom fighters (Rs 18.26 crore)
  4. Tourism development work of Kardameshwar Mahadev temple under spiritual circuit (Rs 4.87 crore)
  5. Facade lighting work in Kapildhara temple (Panchkoshi Pancham Padan) and Thalaivar temple (Buddha statue) (Rs 2.49 crore)
  6. Renovation of residential buildings of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi (Rs 8.23 crore)
  7. Development of Munshi Premchand's house in Lamahi as a museum (Rs 11.82 crore)
  8. Widening and strengthening of road from Chhitampur to Rajwadi Baniya Dhaurahra (Rs 30.67 crore) Rs)
