Lucknow: Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) is spearheading the revitalization of the Naini Industrial Area in Prayagraj district.
This ambitious project, funded with Rs 58.44 crore under the Atal Industrial Infrastructure Mission, aims to upgrade crucial facilities such as road infrastructure, water supply, waste management, and power systems.
The state government is focusing on improving the infrastructure of industrial areas across Uttar Pradesh, driving the effort forward in mission mode. With UPSIDA playing a pivotal role, the rejuvenation of the Naini industrial area is seen as a key step in boosting industrial growth and economic development in the region.
UPSIDA CEO Mayur Maheshwari highlighted that the ongoing upgradation of the Prayagraj Naini Industrial Area will open up new industrial opportunities for the state, positioning Prayagraj as a model of industrial development.
Established in 1972, the Naini Industrial Area plays a significant role in the region's economic landscape. Located just 17 kilometers from Prayagraj on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur NH-76E, the industrial area covers 776.60 acres and features a well-developed infrastructure, including a 12.78-kilometer road network and a 23.05-kilometer drainage system. Its proximity to Prayagraj enhances its potential for industrial growth.
As part of the comprehensive rejuvenation of the Naini Industrial Area, a series of infrastructure upgrades are set to take place. Approximately 2.6 kilometers of roads will be upgraded within the industrial zone, with wide, interlocking footpaths constructed on both sides to improve accessibility and ensure pedestrian safety.
A key component of the project includes the installation of a new 200-meter deep tube well, fitted with a 400 mm diameter pipe, alongside a pumping plant to ensure a reliable water supply throughout the area. Additionally, concrete slabs and benches will be placed along footpaths, entrances, and main roads, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The refurbishment of the old field hostel and Common Facility Centre (CFC) building is also planned as part of the upgrade efforts.
Several new facilities will be introduced to boost operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. A state-of-the-art command center and nesting huts will be established to support operational management while promoting local biodiversity.
Key additions include a gateway, an EV charging center, a bus shelter, street furniture, layout guide maps, and a flag mast, all aimed at improving navigation and the overall user experience. A comprehensive waste management system will also be implemented to ensure cleanliness throughout the industrial zone. Additionally, a 33/11 KV substation will be constructed onsite to guarantee uninterrupted power distribution for industrial operations.
In a move to enhance public safety and infrastructure, the Naini Industrial Area will see the installation of 18 CCTV cameras, 2 EV charging stations, and 2 digital display boards. These additions will improve security and provide vital information to visitors. The entrance of the industrial area will be brightly lit with 96 LED facade lights, ensuring visibility and safety at night.
A significant electrical infrastructure upgrade has also been planned, with a budget of Rs 1024.16 lakh (GST-free). This will involve laying electrical cables through 33 KV overhead and 11 KV underground lines, guaranteeing a reliable and high-quality power supply for businesses in the area.

The upgrade will also include an additional 16 CCTV cameras, 1 more EV charging station, and 2 extra digital display boards, further enhancing security and user experience in the area.
