Lucknow: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is making comprehensive efforts to strengthen the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. While the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Yojana (CM YUVA) is encouraging new entrepreneurs, existing MSME units are being revitalized through the RAMP scheme.
Key organizations like UP Small Industries Corporation, the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, UP Industrial Consultants Limited (UPICON), and UPIDR are working in close coordination to implement these schemes at the grassroots level. Together, these organizations are emerging as the backbone of Uttar Pradesh’s MSME revolution.
The launch of the MSME One-Connect Portal with UP Small Industries Corporation (UPSIC) is proving to be a game-changer for entrepreneurs. Through this portal, entrepreneurs can directly report their problems via call or email to the Connect Call Center and get quick solutions. It also provides easy access to information on government schemes, loan facilities, and technical support. Guided by CM Yogi, this digital platform has improved transparency and accessibility, benefiting entrepreneurs in both rural and urban areas.
UP Industrial Consultants Limited (UPICON) has signed an MoU with NITI Aayog to support 100 women entrepreneurs under the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) as part of the Women Entrepreneur Award Programme. This move is an important step towards promoting women entrepreneurship and strengthening the state's economy.
At the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (IEDUP) in Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow, a new capacity-building program has started for department employees. In partnership with IIM Lucknow, training sessions are being held at the district level. These sessions aim to equip staff with modern technology and management skills so they can better support the MSME sector. The training also includes the use of digital tools, policy implementation, and entrepreneurship promotion.
To boost the MSME sector, the Uttar Pradesh government has also partnered with the Institute of Packaging. This collaboration focuses on improving packaging capabilities so that local products can become more competitive in global markets. With new technologies and training, the quality and efficiency of packaging will improve. This is part of the Yogi government's industrial development policy, which aims to modernize small industries and promote exports.
The Uttar Pradesh Institute of Design and Research (UPIDR) in Lucknow has launched short-term summer programs to empower new artisans in the textile sector. These courses cover subjects like styling, graphic design, and pattern making, helping youth gain modern skills. This initiative aims to take the textile industry to new heights and promote job creation. Under Yogi government’s industrial development policy, this step will help local artisans become globally competitive.
