Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Saturday, held a meeting with officials from the Animal Husbandry Department. During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to encourage farmers to increase the availability of green fodder for cattle. He suggested organizing seminars to motivate farmers in this regard.In the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to purchase green fodder from farmers and supply it to the gaushalas (cattle shelters), which would also help increase farmers' income. He emphasized that an assessment of the consumption of green fodder in the district should be done. Based on this, contact should be made with farmers and FPOs to increase production according to the demand. 

He stated, “The farmers should be encouraged to produce more green fodder and offered fair prices, which will boost their interest in growing it and improve their income.” The responsibility of this initiative was assigned to the District Magistrate.The Chief Minister instructed officials to set up warehouses for storing hay and green fodder. He mentioned that green fodder like maize, sorghum, millet, and berseem lasts for three to four months, so warehouses should be established for their storage. He directed to hand over its responsibility to the District Magistrate to ensure proper monitoring.

Additionally, the Chief Minister directed the installation of CCTV cameras at all gaushalas (cow shelters) to ensure security. He also ordered the placement of reflective strips on the necks of cattle in villages located along highways. To protect cattle from extreme weather conditions, arrangements for puff panels should be made.While reviewing the management of shelters for stray cattle, the Chief Minister emphasized that the Chief Veterinary Officer, the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate, and the Block Development Officer should regularly inspect these shelters. Caretakers should be appointed at all destitute cow shelters, and their work should be continuously monitored. He also instructed that shady trees be planted at these shelters to provide relief to the cattle. 

Furthermore, he called on the Urban Development and Rural Development departments to cooperate for better management of these shelters.
