New York/Jaipur: Renowned Indian designer Kirti Rathore made a remarkable impact at the recently concluded New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026, presenting her latest collection “JAIPUR GOT-TAA (Jaipur Gotta)” at Times Square, New York. Rathore remains the only designer from Rajasthan invited annually to showcase Indian fashion at this prestigious global platform.
Her collection featured sarees in organic hand-dyed vibrant hues, highlighted with traditional Jaipur Bandhani and intricate hand embroidery using Gotta Patti and Charkhi Gotta techniques—an age-old craft practiced by skilled artisans from Nayla village in Rajasthan.
Adding a contemporary twist, the sarees were paired with corset blouses, creating a seamless blend of tradition and modern aesthetics. Innovative styling, including dhoti drapes and experimental silhouettes, gave a fresh perspective to classic Indian attire.
The showcase received a standing ovation from the audience, with Rathore beautifully representing the essence of Rajasthan among international and American audiences.
The two-day fashion event, organized by Hi Tech Moda, featured designers and brands from across the globe.
“My Dream Girl,” led by Kamlesh Chugh, provided a platform for Indian-origin American models to walk the ramp for Rathore’s collection. The show was choreographed by actor and Mr. India winner Aryan Vaid.
A highlight of the event was young star Bianca, who stole the spotlight as the showstopper, dazzling in an ice-blue custom-made halter dress.
Rathore’s regal collection was widely appreciated by prominent personalities across the United States, including members of the American Embassy. Known for promoting Indian culture globally, Rathore emphasized that Rajasthan’s fashion is a perfect fusion of tradition and contemporary style.
She also aims to promote fashion tourism and bring Indian textiles and hand embroidery to a global audience through her designs under the vision “Culture Beyond Textiles.” Rathore actively supports local artisans, especially women-led small businesses from Rajasthan, by showcasing their craftsmanship through international shows and workshops.
From Humble Beginnings to Global Recognition
Kirti Rathore began her journey with a second-hand sewing machine purchased on installments, working from a cowshed at her home. Without formal training in fashion, her innovative ideas quickly gained attention, eventually attracting Bollywood clients.
She started her career in 2012 with menswear, designing couture and bespoke suits. Her expansion into womenswear came after legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi chose her designs.
Today, with numerous national and international accolades, Kirti Rathore continues to make India proud on global platforms while spreading a powerful message:
“No war – live and let live.”
