Yogi govt launches 'curiosity-based education' initiative for classes 6-8 in Council schools

In response to the natural curiosity of young children and their need for guidance in exploring their questions, the Yogi government has introduced a new initiative to promote 'curiosity-based education' for students in classes 6 to 8 of Council schools.
Led by Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge), Sandeep Singh, the program, under the ‘National Invention Campaign,’ aims to foster a scientific mindset, provide hands-on experimentation opportunities, and enhance students' understanding of scientific processes and methods. This initiative seeks to bridge the gap between curiosity and knowledge, encouraging active learning and exploration.
Students are being selected through various competitions and activities organized under the ongoing 'National Invention Campaign' during September. The selected students will have the opportunity to compete in contests at the block and district levels.
Quiz competitions have been organized to select talented students. Through these competitions, efforts are being made to foster reasoning skills, teamwork, a competitive spirit, and confidence among students, while also creating a positive environment for future competitions.
In the school-level quiz competition held on the third Saturday of September, students from every upper primary and composite school were allowed to participate. The list of three selected students, who performed exceptionally well in the competition, has been sent to the Block Education Officer for the block-level competition.
The exam for students selected in the school-level competition will be held at the block level on the fourth Saturday of September. Each school’s three selected students will have the opportunity to take part in this competition. In the first stage of the two-phase competition, three selected students from all Upper Primary Council Schools in the development blocks will participate.
The 25 students who score the highest in the 25 multiple-choice questions (MCQ) exam will be selected for the final round. These 25 students will be divided into groups of five and will compete in the block-level quiz competition. The winning team from the final round will get the opportunity to participate in the district-level quiz competition.
